About the Photographer

Joan Shrager

Joan Myerson Shrager is a professional artist, PowerPoint Designer, former gallery owner/director of ArtForms Gallery, Manayunk and co-director with Paula Mandel of The Stained Glass Project: Windows That Open Doors, for 15 years, a non-profit after school art program for underserved Philadelphia public high school students.

Since joining KI in 2006, Shrager has worked with Rabbi Sussman and has created original art for exhibition at the Temple Judea Museum. She has also designed and printed dozens of posters hung at the front entrance of the synagogue over many years, over 140 PowerPoint Jewish History PowerPoint programs and books in collaboration with Rabbi Sussman.

Shrager has taken thousands of photographs of the clergy and congregation documenting events at KI that have been used for KI publications. She is the administrator for the Archives Facebook page as well as Rabbi Sussman’s and the Social Justice Task Force pages.
